NEW DELHI, May 7, 2026 — At a landmark gathering of global leaders, diplomats, and industry visionaries, the BRICS Culture Media Forum (BCMF) honoured distinguished figures whose work spans the domains of spiritual diplomacy and sustainable energy — recognising them as exemplars of a new model of civilizational leadership.
Haji Syed Salman Chishty, 26th Generation Gaddi Nashin of Dargah Ajmer Sharif and Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, was conferred the BRICS Global Peace Ambassador Award 2026 for his decades of tireless work in spiritual diplomacy, interfaith engagement, and humanitarian service across more than 75 countries.
Mr Faruk G Patel, Chairman of the KP Group of Companies, was honoured with the BRICS Sustainable Energy Leadership Award 2026 for his pioneering vision in renewable energy — advancing solar, wind, battery storage, and hydrogen power solutions to replace fossil fuel dependence and secure India’s energy future.
The awards were presented at the BRICS International Investment Forum 2026 (BIIF 2026), held in New Delhi, which brought together global business leaders, senior government officials, and cultural thinkers under the theme: “Strategic Dialogue Bridging East and West for Peace, Policy & Prosperity.”
Spiritual Diplomacy as Global Architecture
Haji Syed Salman Chishty’s recognition as BRICS Global Peace Ambassador underscores the growing international acknowledgment that lasting peace must be built on the foundations of spiritual wisdom, cultural understanding, and the service of humanity.
He has represented India’s spiritual heritage culture at the United Nations, the G20 Summit, ASEAN forums, and at universities including Harvard and Princeton. His work bridges ancient Sufi ethics with modern challenges from countering extremism through spiritual education to building interfaith trust across conflict lines.
Speaking at the forum, Chishty emphasised that the BRICS alliance represents an opportunity to move beyond transactional diplomacy: “The Indic spiritual tradition has taught centuries after centuries that true civilizational bridges are built not on trade alone, but on trust, spiritual solidarity, and the shared commitment to human dignity.”
Renewable Energy as National Imperative
Mr Faruk G Patel’s recognition honours his leadership in aligning industrial growth with ecological preservation. Under his stewardship, KP Group has become a leading force in India’s clean energy transition building capacity across solar and wind power, advanced battery storage, and hydrogen fuel solutions.
Patel’s vision directly supports India’s strategic goal of energy security and independence from fossil fuels, a priority consistently championed by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who has positioned BRICS as a platform for people-centric development, cultural connectivity, and the strengthening of the orange economy.
The BRICS alliance representing 40 percent of the world’s population and 39 percent of global GDP as more than a political or economic bloc.
Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu, Founder Chancellor of Chandigarh University and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), reinforcing the centrality of education, youth empowerment, and institutional excellence in shaping the future of BRICS cooperation.
